As TooToo planned to expand its services to additional metro cities, the platform needed a transformation to keep up with the demands of a dynamic eCommerce landscape. The existing instances had supported the platform effectively but required enhancements to achieve greater cost-efficiency and scalability. To cater to dynamic traffic patterns, especially during festive seasons and promotional events, TooToo sought an infrastructure that could seamlessly adapt to user surges while maintaining optimal performance. This evolution was essential to support its vision of delivering an exceptional and scalable eCommerce experience.

Migrating to Amazon Graviton for Performance and Efficiency

To meet growing demands and achieve its business objectives, TooToo collaborated with Noventiq, an AWS Premier Consulting Partner known for its cloud migration and security expertise. We helped them transition critical workloads—including Amazon EC2, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), AWS Lambda, and Amazon OpenSearch to Amazon Graviton instances. Amazon Graviton leverages the ARM-based architecture to unlock superior price-to-performance ratios.

The web and mobile application workloads’ migration to Graviton2-based Amazon EC2 instances ensured enhanced scalability, faster page loads, and seamless customer interactions with smoother searches. Databases hosted on Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL were transitioned to Graviton2, resulting in quicker query execution and lower latency, while AWS Lambda functions were upgraded to deliver efficient serverless computing for real-time processes like inventory updates and order placements. Additionally, Amazon OpenSearch was enhanced by Graviton to provide faster indexing and personalised search results, further enriching the user experience.

The modernised architecture also incorporated services such as Amazon S3 for scalable content (such as product images, promotional banners, and customer data) storage, Amazon CloudFront for reduced latency, and Amazon VPC for secure networking, creating a robust and future-ready infrastructure.
