The Challenge – Unlocking Business Potential with Intelligent Workforce Insights
The client’s previous workforce reporting practices reliant on time-consuming, error-prone and labour-intensive manual data extraction from SAP and Excel-based monthly reports, presented an opportunity for transformation. This prepared the ground for the development of an agile, automated, secure, and insightful workforce management system, enabling efficient analysis of workforce performance. Their objective was to automate ~50 KPI reports and achieve real-time monitoring of workforce efficiency, enabling proactive decisions for business growth.
Comprehensive AWS-Powered Solution for Business Growth
To enhance workforce visibility, the client partnered with Noventiq, known for its expertise in AWS solutions and data management. Noventiq began with a proof of concept, validating six initial key performance indicators (KPIs) from the planned fifty.
Noventiq then built an automated framework connecting client’s SAP HR data with the AWS ecosystem. The solution used AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, and Amazon QuickSight. AWS Glue Crawler cataloged the data for querying and reporting via Amazon Athena. This automation streamlined data flow and delivered real-time insights for decision-making. AWS Lambda automated report generation, ensuring up-to-date information was always available.
Amazon QuickSight, a cloud-based business intelligence and data visualisation service by AWS, empowered leadership and operations teams with interactive dashboards, visualising 50+ KPIs, such as workforce efficiency across construction sites, categorised by national, expatriate, and contractual employees. For example, if on-site worker numbers fell below a specified target, managers could quickly redeploy skilled workers from overstaffed sites. This real-time visibility enabled data-driven decisions and improved operational planning.
To ensure data security, Noventiq also implemented several security measures, including CloudTrail and CloudWatch log Monitoring, multi-factor authentication (MFA) and a private network for securing the servers.
Driving Business Efficiency with Actionable Insights
By automating data processes, the client increased operational efficiency, reducing manual effort and freeing time for strategic workforce planning. Critical reports are now available almost instantly, enabling faster, more informed decision-making and better resource allocation. The solution’s scalability supports future growth.
With real-time insights into workforce performance, managers proactively address attendance and efficiency, leading to increased productivity. Moreover, secure dashboards provide relevant data to empower smarter, role-specific decisions. Finally, the robust security and compliance measures ensure the integrity and protection of their sensitive workforce data.
Thus, the company is now well-equipped to make data-driven decisions that drive growth, enhance productivity, and support its long-term vision.
